Untourist prepares first field tests for self-guided NYC walking tours
The TestFlight beta starts with short New York City walks designed for locals rediscovering familiar neighborhoods and travelers who want local stories without joining a scheduled group tour.

DreamLab Solutions LLC today announced early TestFlight availability for Untourist, a self-guided NYC walking tour app built for people who want to explore New York City with more context, less schedule pressure, and a better story in their ears.
Untourist combines short curated routes, audio narration, local field notes, offline maps, and flexible GPS guidance. The first beta walks focus on New York City, beginning with Prospect Park, with additional neighborhood routes planned as real route content, stop lists, media, and field notes are completed.
The product is designed around a simple idea: a good walk should have enough structure to make the city legible, but not so much structure that it turns discovery into an assignment. Untourist gives walkers a route, selected stops, and local stories at the right moments, while still leaving room to pause, skip, wander, or pick the route back up later.
“Most travel products either give you a list of places or ask you to join someone else’s schedule,” said Francisco, founder of DreamLab Solutions. “Untourist is for the open hour: before dinner, after coffee, between plans, or on a weekend morning when you want to know what you are walking through.”
The TestFlight period is focused on real-world walking behavior: route clarity, pacing, audio length, location prompts, offline reliability, and how the app feels when someone is actually outside with changing light, weather, signal, and attention. DreamLab Solutions is using the beta to refine complete walk experiences before expanding the tour library.
Untourist is best suited for New York City residents, repeat visitors, and travelers who want local context without a rigid group tour. During beta, tour availability is limited while DreamLab Solutions refines the in-field experience.
