DreamLab Solutions launches B-Roll Archives to help creators find the footage they already filmed

The native Mac app turns footage folders and connected drives into a visual library, with contact sheets, local search, and playback from sampled moments. Originals stay in place.

Content creators and videographers know how quickly footage piles up. You save a clip thinking, “I’ll come back to this for fresh content someday.” But new footage keeps coming, and other responsibilities leave little time to revisit what you’ve already captured. Finding the moments worth reusing becomes harder as the archive grows, with useful shots and entire events buried inside recordings you barely have time to open.

DreamLab Solutions LLC today announced B-Roll Archives, a native Mac app that helps video creators find and reuse footage they already own. Version 0.3.0 is available today, October 7, 2026, as the app’s stable release.

Users connect a folder or drive and prepare a library on their Mac. The app creates contact sheets from sampled frames, with the number of samples scaling with the video’s duration. Selecting a frame opens the original video at that timestamp, helping editors return to a moment they want to use.

The library supports filename and metadata search, along with visual search based on a written description of a shot. Visual search compares that description with locally indexed frames. Brief events between sampled moments can be missed.

Original videos remain in their existing folders. Generated previews, metadata, and the visual index stay on the Mac, and core browsing and visual search do not upload footage. Prepared contact sheets and metadata remain available when a source drive is disconnected; playing the original requires reconnecting it.

B-Roll Archives also includes a local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Compatible agents can search the library, inspect contact sheets, and return links to matching moments. External agent providers may process retrieved text or images according to their settings.

Availability and pricing

B-Roll Archives is available to download for Apple Silicon Macs with an M1 chip or later. The release has been tested on macOS 26.3; earlier macOS compatibility remains unverified. The app and installer are Developer ID signed and Apple notarized.

One-time licences cost $49.99 for one active Mac, $69.99 for two, or $99.99 for five. Prices are in USD, and taxes may apply at checkout. Each pack includes the full app and all future updates.

Creators can try three fixed clips from their own footage for seven days, beginning when the first usable preview finishes preparing. Preview contact sheets are watermarked. Activation unlocks the full library and clean contact sheets while preserving cached work. Download registration requires an email address; product-update emails are optional.
